MESSAGE TO THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL TAOISM FORUM

      I am delighted to send warm greetings to the International Taoism Forum. I especially welcome your focus on enhancing the positive role of Taoism in promoting economic and social development.
很高兴能在国际道教论坛上向大家致以诚挚的问候。我也很欢迎在座各位能够重视和加强道教在促进经济社会发展中的积极作用。

Taoist teachings contain timeless messages that can illuminate our approaches to modern challenges. The concept of Yin Yang, for example, highlights the value of balance among contrary forces in our interconnected and interdependent world.
道教的诸多教义都万古常新，指引我们应对现代社会的种种挑战。例如，阴阳的概念便强调——我们应在这个相互联系、相互依存的世界中，重视相对力量的平衡。

As we confront the global challenges of environmental degradation, human rights violations, conflict and poverty, Taoist thought can lead to better understanding among people and greater respect for the natural environment. As such, your gathering can contribute positively to our common future.
当我们面对环境退化、人权侵害、冲突、贫困等全球性挑战时，道教思想能够促使人们更好地了解和尊重自然环境。因此，今日大家于此共襄盛举，便可为人类共同的未来做出积极贡献。
